A good nights rest will help to ensure that you are relaxed, rested and mentally prepared for your appointment.
Have a good meal and drink plenty of water before your appointment to keep your blood sugar levels stable.
It is always a good idea to bring sugary snacks to help you stay energised during longer sittings.
Please avoid alchohol and blood-thinning medications (e.g. ibuprofen) at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Arrive freshly showered with clean clothes.
Avoid applying products such as moisturiser, sunscreen or fake tan to the area being tattooed on the day of your appointment.
Wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the tattoo location. I always recommend dark clothing to help avoid ink damaging clothes.
The studio is air conditioned, you are welcome to bring a blanket if you think you may get cold.
Please arrive at your scheduled time.
On-street parking is available.
Although not necessary, you are welcome to bring something to keep you occupied such as a book or headphones.
It is beneficial to moisturise the tattoo area in the days prior to your appointment to ensure your skin is well hydrated, this will help the tattoo process.
Please avoid using any lotions on the day of your booking.
I am not able to tattoo on sunburnt skin.
At the end of your appointment I will cover your tattoo with plastic wrap. Leave the plastic wrap on for 1-2hrs (but no longer).
After removing the wrap, give the tattoo a gentle wash with warm water and scent-free non-exfoliating soap. Repeat this process daily.
Never touch your new tattoo with dirty hands - it must be treated as an open wound to avoid infection.
2-3 days after getting your tattoo it will become dry, flaky, or scab-like. Start applying a very light layer of gentle moisturiser (e.g. sorbolene, Vitamin E, coconut oil) or tattoo aftercare product of choice daily until the tattoo is fully healed.
Your tattoo will become itchy and flaky as it heals, this is normal. Do not pick or scratch at the tattoo.
Stay out of the sun, avoid fake tanning, do not shave the skin and do not swim until your tattoo is completely healed.
It is best to avoid heavy excercise, excessive sweating, or activities that raise your blood pressure immediately after getting your tattoo - this may push ink out of your skin.
